Josh Harris
Josh advises owners of lower middle market businesses in the sale of their companies, from pre-sale and exit preparation through closing and the transition that follows. He works from BMI’s Philadelphia office and serves clients across the country, with a special focus on business services firms including security, janitorial, facilities, field services, and more.
Josh comes to advisory work with experience as both a business buyer and seller. As the Founder, Chief Operating Officer, and General Counsel of Cascadia Global Security, he helped build the company to over $30 million in annual revenue and carried it through both a regional divestiture in 2024 and a final national sale in 2026. As a Strategic Projects Principal at Deus X Defense, he worked on the buy-side of major transactions to facilitate diligence and post-acquisition integration in a highly regulated industry.
As a former operator, Josh knows the demands placed on ownership and the executive team in preparation for a sale. He has been through the financial and records cleanup, management meetings, diligence and document requests, and quality of earnings reviews, all while keeping operations running smoothly. Having been through it himself, he knows exactly what to look for and how to help smooth the process.
Before his business career, Josh served as a U.S. Army Intelligence NCO and Chinese Linguist, and deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve with 5th Special Forces Group. He has been appointed to various government boards and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Josh earned a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Maryland. He lives in Chester County, Pennsylvania with his wife and daughter.
